Although having them sent to you on a flash drive or via dropbox seems like the easiest way to get your hands on images from your portrait session, it’s not a complete service. For my clients who truly want to make the most of your images, meeting with your photographer after your session is highly recommended.
As an artist and a professional, I put a lot of time and effort into your session as well as the interpretation of your photos. A true professional won’t just abandon you as a client once the shoot is done. If you’re wondering why it’s important to meet with me after the session, here are a few reasons for it:
- A post-shoot meeting completes your photography experience. Having your photos taken is a personal experience, so why shouldn’t the entire process be personal too? I prefer to take you through your photos so that I can assist you from start to finish and share in your joy. With a client’s permission, I often record the initial reaction and it’s a boost for both of us!
- I will help you with the photo selection process. For some, receiving a disc or flash drive filled with photos can be quite overwhelming, especially when it comes to selecting the best photos to print. Meeting with your me after your session allows me to give you a professional opinion on the best photos to print, at which size, and I lay out what your printing options are.
- I’m not an interior designer, but I can help you find that perfect spot to place your pictures. It’s one of the reasons I prefer to meet at your home. I usually walk around with you and offer suggestions on the best places to display your portraits.
- The proof-book is another part of full-service photography that my clients enjoy. I always make a distinction between pictures and images. Anything online on your computer or phone is just an image—it can be a very nice image, but it doesn’t communicate with you nearly as well as a picture or print. With a proof-book, you get to experience your photos as prints so that you can envision how they will look before deciding to get the fine art prints I offer.
I’m one of the few photographer artists trying to revive the full service experience that people just don’t get anymore. Personalized service is all about you, and I do my best to make sure you feel special even after the shoot.
