I say this all the time, and I hope it shows when we meet for the session: I love doing this. I love fussing over the details. I love making the art. And most of all, I love the reaction to the prints. But let me explain why I think photography just makes people happy!

  1. Photography changed I see things.I notice colors, textures, flowers, trees, people, shapes and light in a way most people never see them. It’s natural for us to become accustomed to our environment, and then it seems mundane. I know you’ve been in that mental place on the drive home… the next thing you know, you’re parking! Well, I’m constantly on the lookout for places to shoot sessions. There are so many jewels hiding in plain sight. Spotting these places (these scenes) is something that I probably wouldn’t be able to do if not for photography.
  2. I pay more attention to the beauty around me.This applies, not just to places, but people as well. Even the most camera-shy subject is shown beautifully because I know how to create the most flattering poses. We all have our own “body maps,” but I’m seeing my subjects through new eyes. So, when I say you’re beautiful, I mean it.
  3. It’s an amazing creative outlet.I get the chance to put a little bit of myself into each session I shoot; into each image I make. Anyone can push buttons on a camera, but not everyone can truly make an image come to life
  4. You get to meet new people all the time.I work with people from all walks of life, and everyone has a story. Getting to know you is a part of the process of bringing your personality through in a photo. It also makes the job a lot more fun!

When you decide to commission me for a portrait session, know that you are hiring an individual who is passionate about what they do and is willing to go the extra mile to help you create beautiful photos that you can treasure forever.
